Got mine today and its A06. This is a great site. Have been reading the forum for months before buying the x51v.

I have received my axim x51v 2 days ago and it is A08 rom inside.
This one is not for company purposes, it is my private.

ROM A07 pour Axim : il faudra attendre

Merci à Antoine, lecteur de PocketPCParadise qui nous informe que le support technique de Dell lui a confirmé que la mise à jour de ROM A07 pour Dell X51 et X51v ne sera pas disponible avant le mois d’août contrairement à ce que les sources de Brighthand avaient laissé entendre.


Le 12 avril 2006, deux sources différentes du site annonçaient l’imminence d’une mise à jour de ROM majeure pour Pocket PC Dell Axim X51 et X51v incluant le pack «Messaging & Security Features», le profil A2DP qui permet le support des casques stéréo Bluetooth ainsi qu’un patch correctif relatif aux cartes CF Sandisk. Il faudra finalement attendre cette nouvelle ROM quelques mois.

I wonder why they call it A07, cause the current rom ver is A08 already.
b.t.w I found out that the A08 is only distributed on x50v's with hardware revision A02.

I just want a ROM update that stops messing around with the CF card starting and stopping it all the time and draining the battery. At least they are thinking of putting (what I assume is) AKU2 in a ROM update eventually -- with all of the rumors that Dell wasn't even going to ever do it and just close the Axim line for good.

A12 is latest ROM from Dell for the for X51v. Download from Dell's site. Do a search here for the best instructions for upgrading the A12 ROM.
