Keep in mind that the notion of releasing a new ROM to only a select few of your most tech savvy customers (the business segment) for a few days/weeks before releasing it publicly is not a bad idea. You use folks who are getting paid to chat with your tech support folks to help identify underlying issues before releasing the update in the wild and having your tech support folks caught without even a rudimentary understanding of the issues the masses are likely to flood them with post-download.
Also, today is Good Friday. Stock markets closed, almost Easter weekend. Not the best time to release a new ROM download. I'd stick to a Monday or Tuesday release and not one right before a holiday weekend if I were about to drop such a sought-after update to a group of the most vociferous and knowledgeable device users out there. They've made us wait this long, what makes you think they wouldn't stall us out a bit more for strategic (labor/tech support) reasons?
Finally, I got my Ax about a month and a half after A06 came out and it had A01 loaded on it. Just because you have a recent order shipping to you, doesn't mean that you have even the most remote shot at getting A08 earlier, nor does it invalidate the folks who have. Dell likely uses different distribution facilities for different geographical regions and some may not ave a single A08 loaded device in them while others may. Also, they could even have specific business distribution outlets which are drawing from a separate stock anyway.
We'll have an update soon. It will likely not satisfy everyone's needs/desires and the 90-180 day cycle of waiting for a new ROM and griping till it arrives will begin anew.

No offense here, but I have no idea what you are trying to say. What does this have to do with this thread?

1. Don't plan on Dell releasing it right before a holiday weekend
2. Don't send your device / buy a brand new one and expect it to have A08 on it
3. Dell likely shipped some A08 devices to see if it had major problems with the general public/businesses
4. have patience / wait for the release... chances are most people will b!tch about it anyway.

is it still using MS Bluetooth stack? it is pretty stable machine? thanks
From the way he described the dialogs, it sounds like it is definately still the MS stack. What we don't know yet is if the profiles have been updated.

Has anybody looked at the two new .exe files( 12/4/2006) in the utilities section
of Dells Download FTP site. if you sort by date and go to the 3/1/06 you will see the A06 version there R114959?
You should be able to goto "Bluetooth manager" select new and see what choices it gives. I'd be curious to see what it lists.
Where is this bluetooth manager? I tap the BT icon on the today screen, or settings | connections | bluetooth and get to the same place ...... neither go to a bluetooth manager

I did that as soon as I saw this thread. I've since deleted the file but it was for laptops: the Dell service software or something like that. I plan on continuing to check and see if there are any other new files added. I was initially excited because of the similarity in file size, but it was all just a tease.
Update: The new 4/14/06 files are not Axim related either.

On WM5: please tap on the BT icon at right bottom, goto Device tab, tap on New Partnership and you have to have BT devices on and ready for pairing...Then it will offer you the appropriate profiles...

OK, if I pair it with my laptop which is running widcomm bluetooth with stacks of profiles, it offers me 'activesync' and 'dialup networking'
If I pair it with my SonyEricsson W800i, I get 'serial port', 'dialup networking', and 'input device'
