Managing Programs and Installs--Best Way

I'm new to the Axim (and Windows too--I'm a Mac user)

I have a 1gb SD card and a 2gb CF card installed. I am currently telling all the programs to install on the CF card. Any downloaded CAB files are staying on the SD card in case of the need for a hard reset. Is this necessary?

Even though the programs are installed to the CF card, if I do a hard reset I still must reinstall from the discs or cab files, right?

What is the best way to manage installed programs on the X51V? I

A hard reset will not touch anything on SD or CF cards; however, a program you install to memory card may not work following a hard reset because registry entries, shortcuts in internal memory would be deleted. If you want to save time after a hard reset, you can do what you've already been doing, leaving CAB files available for quick installs, or you can just make backups after clean installs of your important programs.
