Greetings! A Happy, Blessed Easter Season to Everyone! :approve: Does anybody know if the Pocket e-Sword Bible software is compatible with WM5? There is a tremendous amount of software available for FREE: http://www.e-sword.net/pocketpc/downloads.html There is, however, no mention of WM5 OS.
Thanks, Paul. I appreciate the quick response. Have you downloaded many of the Bibles and other resources? I was amazed at all the religious material available for download!!! Awesome!
Gigi, I figured you would jump in...hehehe...as I found the Pocket e-Sword from the list you compiled of All The Things You Can Do With Your Axim! However, I must be getting cross-eyed: I can't find Pocket e-Sword on the list??? I see Pocket Bible but...??? Am I missing it??

OHHHHH, OK...cool. Hey, Gigi, have you used e-Sword? I am slightly confused because while Paul indicates it works with his X51v, the software downloads are only for Windows Mobile 2003 and 2002??? So, if it works, which version?

Sorry, no. I only have Laridian, and I'm also still running WM2003SE.
I would like to recommend Olive tree Bible it is compatible with 5.0. It is also free and has many books for free downlaod.
Unlike E-sword it is not .net based which is a good point in my eyes, as .net applications are generaly slower on the pda.
You will notice this sluggishness when searching in e-sword.
Another good point with olive tree is the bibles footprint are smaller by a long run.
I have about 4 books on my pda and they take about 12mb.
When compared to E-sword you would have like 55 mb.
I used them both for a time and you can see I made my choice.
I'm sure E-sword does have it's good points though.
Perhaps somebody that has used it more thouraly tham myself will leave a comment???
Thanks, corny! I decided to go with Laridian for my e-Bibles and references. Based on considerable research, user testimonials and some of my own practical knowledge and research, Laridian really seems a step ahead of most; that being said, of course, Laridian is not free! Indeed one could say, They Should Be ahead! Amen. However, small footprint (even smaller than your designations about OliveTree), great applicability, good reputation and support, the integration of products and perfect compatibility with WM5 and Windows XP, makes Laridian my choice. Thanks to all for the valuable info and comments!
I have downloaded ALL, yes ALL of the add-ons for pocket e-sword. It works very well on my axim x51v although searches are indeed quite slow. However, I had a similar program to the Olive Tree Bible on my old Clie and although it was faster (for searches, etc.), it had nowhere near the comprehensive amount of information available. It was also not set up nearly as well. For what it's worth, I'd say e-sword is the absolute best free program there is for the PC as well as for the Pocket PC. I wish it was a bit quicker to run - but try to beat the wealth of information it offers and you probably won't be able to do it (unless you want to pay for some software).
