Aximsiteactivesyncicon Program Removal Problem

Hiya Folks,

I'm new here, Maybe some one can help me. I inadvertantly installed the older version of Acrobat Reader into my X50. I tried to install the newer version and it tells me I have to remove the olderversion first. I removed the older version but the install of the newer version still tells me I have to remove the older version...Confusing!

I've seen some strange behavior with application upgrades on WM5. The most recent was NewsBreak, that was supposed to be a simple upgrade but I spent 20 minutes trying to get it installed.

What I've found is you really need to uninstall your applications before trying to install a new version (not all apps have this problem, but its safer to just go this route). If the uninstall doesn't complete properly, then do a soft-reset and try uninstalling it again. If that still doesn't work, you'll need to "scrub" your machine of the app. This means finding all of the directories it created and deleting them, and going through the registry and deleting any keys it created. The only downside to this is that you will probably lose any settings you had changed in the original app, but so goes life with a PPC.
