noob needs help installing apps to sd card

Hi,
Im the happy owner of a new x51v.
I'm having trouble working out how to install apps directly onto the sd card rather than in rom.
When i double click an exe for an application it directly installs to the default directory and i don't get an option to select the sd card.

Under add/remove programs in Activesync on my pc the option 'install programs into default folder' tick box is greyed out.

On mine, the option to install is presented on the device after the .exe on the desktop runs and copies the cab file to the device. They changed to this behavior for WM5, I believe. Do you get any prompts on the X51 after running the desktop installer on your PC? What program are you trying to install? (As older programs that don't take this change into consideration may pose a problem - at least I seem to remember some developers having issues with the exe installers when WM5 first came out.)

Edit: Of course the option on the device only appears if I have a storage card currently in the device (and recognized by the device).

ahh, noticed the option to specify the location after the files had been copied over as you said. Thanks!

Alternatively, u can use cabinstl, and run the cab from the device.
