How Reliable is the X51v

For those of you who have an X51v, have you ever had to return it to Dell?

x51v is flawless for me. The only problem is the limited bluetooth profiles (if that is a problem for you). However, I think that'll be fixed someday. Get one, their awesom! Just be careful that the software you install is wm5 compatible or you might get problems.:approve: :approve: :approve:

BT is fixed now. All my BT profiles work now. x51v is awesome and plays with WM5 a lot more then the x50s. Dell has them for $350 with second battery and aluminum case on sale this week.

Jump on it. I'm posting from my axim now, FYI

After updating the ROM to A06 and applying the 'Fake Server Trick' posted on this web site as a sticky note my unit is rock solid and has been for 4 months.

Even BT heaphones w/o the dongle?
Have no problems with the hardware, rock solid. But yeah, you have to be careful when installing pre-wm5 software. Cause you no end of trouble. Otherwise the fake server trick takes care of everything else. I have a love/hate relationship with AS...

The x51v is an amazing piece of hardware. Only minor bumps in the road of the software, i.e. bluetooth stack. However, that doesn't bother me because all the BT profiles I need work great. The x51v is great and will only get better.

mine is also pretty much rock-solid. I only had one incident where I had to hard-reset (tip: if you reset your device and it keeps freezing on the bootup process, trying taking out all memory cards. had I known this, I wouldn't have had-reset). ;)

The X51V is a great device, after doing the fake server fix I have not had many issues. I have had dissapearing CF and SD card slot one or two times and the other day my battery drained 100% over night. Apart from that all is ok. However, I think it has one of the worst quality screens I have used so far, especially compared to the Loox 720, particularly saturation levels and contrast. Also the viewing angle while watching movies is not very good at all. For a device of this calibre I expect a much better quality screen but most will not notice if they do not have something to compare it with.
