brand new axim x51v, transcriber problems

I just got a x51v a few days ago in the mail. I'm having fun and so far have installed opera browser, minimo browser, SJPhone, Skype, and agile messenger. Everything seems to be allright except I'm having a few problems.

I cannot seem to use the transcriber to input text into any application. It makes a sound after i write something but doesn't do anything just sits there with the writing on the screen. Maybe im not using it right cause i never have before but it seems like its broken.

Also today i noticed its not letting me start skype. I have no idea why. ( after i pulled the battery out of the back skype is working again )

That is really odd. Transcriber makes the sound to say that it has stop momentarily taking in your writing, and is now writing it out to the application. It would be really crazy if this happnened, but it might be that your font is the wrong color (white font on white background...I don't mean to be insulting, just practical). Another thought I have is that you might want to go through and train the letters - select the types of letters you write. After checking these I would see if it worked in Word or Excel or basically any of the default programs that come installed. If it works in there then you are good to go probably, if not, it is back to the drawing board.

I did train the letters. I am not writing on a white font on a white background (it would have been funny-haha). As soon as i enter write something it stays on the screen and does not turn into text. it does beep however, but does not turn into text... its broken and i never got to use it once.

I found recently that when running SJphone that i cannot use my transcriber. I still see 24.15 megs free in the settings but the transcriber will not do it's magic. Maybe its SJphone or maybe the transcriber requires alot of memory?
