X50v ActiveSync 3.8 can't explore the device

This problem exist after I downgrade my x50v from wm5 to 2003se, also, activesync from 4.1 to 3.8. I can make the connection between AS and x50v, the synchronization process is working normal.
However, when I click the explore button, nothing comes out. I have reinstalled AS for several time but still can't solve the problem. Does anyone see this problem before?
ah.. also, i have a smartphone motorola mpx200, cannot "Explore" too, so, i think this is ActiveSync's problem.
p.s. I have removed rapi.dll and ceutil.dll before installing AS 3.8.

I had the same problem once, before I ever upgraded to WM5. For me upgrading to WM5 solved the problem. I have since downgraded, but not before I had formatted my pc. In other words: I had a similar problem with AS3.8, but don't know what to do to solve it. Sorry!

I have exactly the same problem having downgaded from 4.1 to 3.8...

I've uninstalled AS 3.8 (yet again!!!), deleted c:\program files\microsoft\activesync then reinstalled 3.8. Now it works a treat! No problems with exploring.
Now, whilst experimenting, I had deleted the windows\activesync folder on my Axim so I don't know if this needed to be done to make it work. I'd suggest leaving it in place and just nuking the folder on the PC. If that doesn't work, nuke the folder on the Axim too. I'm not going to test this - "If it's fixed, don't bust it", to coin a phrase.

why downgrade AS at all, i'm still using the new version, after rolling back to wm2003se and it works fine, including the explore function.
