I got a bit worrie when i was reading about all these axim problems that a lot of users were reporting. I dont seem to have any problems with mine.. I just got it today. I havent tried out the bluetooth yet so I dont know about that stuff. But everything else seems to be running fine, exect the task switcher program stops working after a while.
Mine's working great too. What task switcher are you using? The one that came with Dell? Get a better one like vBar or InClose Mobile. Welcome to Aximsite too..!!
Sorry to say this pal, but I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE your axim's imperfect!
But then again...so is mine, chris's and everyone else's in this forum. And so is the ipaq, xda atom etc. There's no perfect pda! As long as it suit your needs and works fine, it's perfect (for you). What do you mean by the task switcher program stops working?
I think that more times than not, the people who are having problems are the only ones that say anything. There's nothing wrong with that...those people have usually run into a brick wall, thrown up their arms and then come here to say "I'm stumped...has anyone else had this PROBLEM and does anyone have a solution?" A forum like this can easily lead someone to believe that NO one has had any success with their Axim and that they lead to nothing but problems.
I think that there is a silent majority of very happy, healthy users.
Any problems that I have had were very minimalistic and a fix was as easy as a quick search or a post here.
My x51v has been VERY good to me.
Welcome to Aximsite, by the way :)

Would you care to prove that statement?
I however can tell you for a fact that more than two thousand users who signed the petition (made by our aximsite commissioner) doesn't think that the X51 is even near perfection.
There are happy users who post, happy users who don't, satisfied (but unimpressed) users like me, unhappy users who post their woes, unhappy users who don't, users who doesn't know about this forum that's why they cannot post. But to say that any of these groups are the majority without sufficient evidence is just a biased opinion.
I agree with nerdy_me that one's opinion and how they use it will determine if their X51 is perfect for them or not. But to be realistic, it has it's issues and is far from perfect. Just an example, a thread about trying to install the widcomm stack to the x51 is probably the biggest non-stickied thread there is.

yes but only one poster has ever said that solataire works propperly on any axim ever!
It isn't perfect but it's pretty darn good. And I challenge you to name one tangeable thing anywhere that is perfect...

I don't see any reason for you to worry. The fact that people have problems, and that most of them find a solution here on aximsite should be comforting. Dell support is nearly useless, and having a forum such as this to help if you do run into an issue is wonderful.
Don't worry. You have a great device. Most people have minor issues (when they do have problems) and in most cases the solution is fairly simple...
If you don't have problems ... you aren't trying hard enough

I there anything in my post that suggests there is (anything that's perfect)?
Common sense will tell you that no device ever made is perfect.
Ahh nuts... I was hoping to draw you into a discussion about Platonic Forms.....

Glad to hear it... for a moment I thought you were a glass half empty kinda guy

That's what I don't get with these "half-glass kinda guy" reasoning. I guess there are people who will be happy to receive a half glass of milk knowing that they paid full price for it just because they think that it is half full.
I'm happy with the X50V/SE not because it is half full, in fact I think it is close to the brim if not for the battery life.
...in fact I think it [the glass] is close to the brim...
I think you are slowly convincing yourself that your Ax is your best friend

Read carefully and read my previous posts again, the first quote was for the X51V, the second and third was for the X50V. You assume too much.
p.s. If you are going to quote, quote the whole thing (or at least the important parts of it). It is easy to twist reality in your favor just by selecting parts that would suit your needs.

Either way, I'm glad you came to the realization of how much you really like your Ax. :)

Came to the realization? I've been using these a long as I can remember and I don't think I just "came to realize" that I like my Ax. Again, you assume too much.
Having worked with computer systems for over 30 years I define perfect as a device completely suited for a particular purpose or situation. That said, my x50 is perfect for me. It does everything I need it to do.
