Nooo my X51v was delayed!

I ordered my X51v a week ago today. The order status said an estimated ship date would be today, May 3rd. Well, I checked my order status and the estimated ship date is now May 10th. Is this expeted from Dell and should I be worried about further delay?

Oh and, does the "In production" part of the Order Status ever change? If so, I'm still in the "Kitting" stage :(

That's not uncommon. I wouldnt say it is to be "expected", just not uncommon. I doubt there will be any more delays. They are usually pretty good about getting stuff out according to estimates. Either way, that's a shame your order got delayed. It's hard to wait an extra hour for these things, let alone an extra week!

As for the "Kitting" stage...I'm not familiar with that stage.

Cool that's wierd

Ordered my x51v last thursday, 4/27 and it was shipped Sat. UPS tracking shows it is supposed to be delivered today. YEEHAA! Did you order through home or small business outlet? Maybe you are lucky and it is getting the newer ROM that has been talked about. At any rate congrats and good luck. I know I'm as twitchy as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, almost felt like taking the day off to make sure I'm here when it comes. BTW does anybody have info on how long you really need to let it charge before actually doing anything with it? I'm sure the recommended time is longer than necessary. If I leave it hooked to charger can I get started on things like applying "fake server" fix etc.?

Li-ions dont require more than about a three hour charge to be fully charged. When the light turns green, you should be good to go (it will probably turn green between 1 and 3 hours of charging).

Here's a good discussion about the whole thing: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=118908

Dell service, support and the WM5 downgrade is why I have gone HP and not looked back one bit. My old Dell(s) now belong to my children. However Aximsite is still a good place to visit.

My X51v had an estimated ship date of April 27th .... but it was actually shipped on April 26th and in my hands by the 28th!! I've had Dell in the past indicate a delayed ship date, but then the item shows up at my door the day after the Dell web site said it would be delayed. Hang in there ... your Axim should arrive soon!! Good luck!

I know the wait must be killing you. Don't worry. You'll get it eventually. I agree with Aximsite being my tech support. I don't know what I'd do without this site.

As water wizard said, you might be the lucky one like Mr. Gimper whose X51V was delayed and when he recieved it, he got one with the new ROM A08. So it might be a good thing after all.

Well I talked to Dell today and they said that it was delayed due to high demand. However that doesn't make sense as someone above said they ordered theirs a day after mine and have already had theirs shipped. I did however did recieve an upgrade to next day shipping.

I checked my order status today and it shipped via FedEx Express standard overnight at about 1:30 this morning. However it shows "Future Delivery Requested" and a delivery date of May 8th. Does anyone know what that means, and is that why it shows a delivery date of the 8th instead of tomorrow?

Oh and I just wanted to say how helpful Dell was. They upgraded me to overnight because the order showed a delay of a week, when it actually was only a one day delay.

My 51v came from:

Dell Receiving
11550 Stone Hollow Dr. / 13-15
Austin, TX 78758

That was about 3 months ago. I'm not sure if all of them come from that address or not.

I'm up in Canada and I know that my x51v shipped from Austin aswell, so I'm going to assume they're all sent from there. Anywhere would have been closer to me than Austin.
