wm5 x50v CURE!

maybe i am crazy , but i try again install wm5 in my x50v ... i use all the tips , moving to my sdcard all the files than i can , volatile folder, interenet temporal files, etc.
but oviously happens what should happen , 100% cpu filesys crap , but....
then i install Xcpuscalar 2.93 and all works now like a charm!
today the 100% cpu filesys begins again and i start the XcpuScalar (first shuting down XcpuScalar and then loading it while the filesys is 100% cpu) and sudenly filesys.exe stop Bugging me ... and the unit come back inmidiatly to work speedy as wm2003 .. now i use xcpuScalear turn on all the time and filesys works like in wm2003, it sudenly get the cpu high but only for a few seconds just 1 or 2 no more than that. this happens 2 times (when i forgot start XcpuScalar at the begining and when fielesys start to bugging i start XcpuScalar and Voila ! all normal again
Tomorrow i going to start to install some things to my Internal memory and far by now everything is fine , no filesys 100% episodes by now

the funny thing is than before i made the same thing (moving all the files than i can to sdcard) but always filesys start at 100% cpu , but now the diference is than i use XcpuScalar , it cure that behavior

Surely the only way to fix this is to re-install 2003 SE.

I did and it fixed the issue...........

Enjoy the WM5 bliss while it lasts, but don't get too comfortable with it. You can't keep the compactionthread at bay for very long.

Months ago, there was a great Patch released here on Aximsite - the FILESYS COMPACTION patch. Compaction is NEEDED for your X50v running WM5 to work well, and to work fast. This patch keeps the filesys to minimal useage, unless it's cradled, then it goes to full useage (you can also set it to only do it from midnight til 4am). If you use this patch, and let the Filesys do its compaction while the PDA is cradled (leave it powered on while in the cradle), then you will be happy.

I heard what you said. The real problems will take a couple weeks to show up.

The reason WM2003se uses the compaction thread less is that it is only called when you stored something to BIS. The PIM files, temp files and OS ran out of RAM. With WM5, it is writing to the flash ROM 10x because the PIM, temp files, etc. are being written to the FLASH rom. Thus much more compaction is needed. The more you use the device the more this bug will raise its head. If you're on the craddle a lot if might not bother you but on battery two things will happen - the compaction will suck the battery dead or you can supress the compaction and eventually run out of flash rom and run into a hard-reset/crash fest.

Throtlling the CPU is a band-aid on a severed artery. It will eventually bleed out and die.

the thing than i did was:
first put your cpu to max performance (to let XcpuSclaear manage the cpu)
then i use the configuration shown on the attached screen shots , keeping the xcpuscalar alive all the time ,
the cpu jumps all around (1 or 2 % ) but never get stuck al 94% like used to

This is based strictly on observations, but before I used xcpuscalar I found that the filesys made my system incredibly slow at least once every other day, and now that I use xcpuscalar, I find my system does not slow down like it used to, of course, it still slows down occasionally just like my pc running windows xp slows down every once and a while meaning windows software sucks. Anywho, my conclusion is that xcpuscalar does decrease the filesys problem. It may only help, or it may solve it completely, I can't say for sure, but I have been using it for a while now and would not use my pocket pc without it now. But like I said, this is based on my observation on use, and not by looking at any tech specs or cpu usage of the thread, so I can't debate with anyone why this works.
