I gave it a 4.9... I have no need for bluetooth at the moment, but I have had a few issues with slow-downs in the past. though that may be because of wisbar.

WM5 is imho the best thing to happen to PDAs (even with its problems) in a long time!
Agree with all of that, except the score - I gave it a 5 as I've really had zero problems, and it's been rock solid. Now I'm screwed - it will no doubt spontaneously combust in my pocket on my drive home from work.

It gets a 5 from me simply because I don't have any use for bluetooth for the moment.

I rated my X51v a TWO (2).

With the purchase of the X51v, I "moved up" from a previous generation Toshiba E750 to this Axim... or did I?

What have I gained?

1. VGA? A beautiful VGA screen that is poorly supported by my apps (wisbar, 1-calc, ect). So I don't use VGA, except when I feel like seeing what my Axim COULD be like.

2. Memory? More memory indeed, but memory that I frankly don't see since I'm constantly below 20MB free with same app load as my E750. Worst yet, that alleged extra memory gets slowly "EATEN" each second my unit in powered on... until the next reset.

3. BT? A bluetooth feature that STILL can't connect to the BT headset I purchased with my Axim.

4. Speed? I went from a 400mhz to a 624mhz unit... Faster? No way!!! The Axim takes half a meeting to boot up, and the other half to load an application (exagerated but darn this thing is sloooowwww to take off...)

5. Prettier than the E750... Yep, that must be it.

Bottom line, that's a lot of cash for a prettier unit that does the same as a dinosaur like the E750, except slower...

I am a patient man, and ANY X51v owner HAS to be, but had I known 1 year ago that I'd STILL be dreaming about VGA, STILL be waiting to try my BT headset, and have a unit this slow in May 2006, I would have NEVER sold my Toshiba back then...

I have had my Axim X51 for about 2 weeks now and give it a 4.9. My only regret is not getting it sooner (finally upgraded from an old Palm).

I gave it a 4, but wish now I'd voted 3.

I really want the bluetooth headset profile. I use my new bluetooth headset for my cordless phone system, my laptop, my desktop, but my Axim x51v doesn't support it! Screw Dell and Microsoft. I will do more homework before I buy my next PDA.

Not needing bluetooth (yet), my only qualm is with occasional weird sync problems... however, it is possible that my pc is playing a small role as it occasionally decides that my axim is an unidentified USB peripheral...
between 4 and 4.9

Voted 4 cuz of the non-existent BT and the minor tweaks to make the ax work properly. I could live with that, but as soon as a working BT is released I'm getting a BT headset. 4.5 is closer to what I'm feeling.

4. Not getting a 5 until dell fixes the bluetooth. Also, couldn't they have included a bigger standard batt on the x51v?

They could have, but then your x51v would be bigger and heavier.

if my X51v has acceptable battery time, broadcom bt stack, and able to dialup manually like WM2003, I give 5 (as my X50v)
but soon I'll do another experiment, that try to install A2DP addon for HTC device (keep in mind, X51 is also HTC device)
sorry, the broadcom bt for Billionton CF cannot be installed (wrong OS, for WM2002/2003 ONLY)
4 now
update: just got 2 cab files, they're for Tornado A2DP addon, since I read the feedback that other HTC devices also works, then I give a try
it works!

Moved up from a Palm M130.

I've had it about 3 weeks.

I'm having a little learning curve trouble, but I'm getting there.

I've really needed the more powerful Word and Excel. I wished I'd upgraded sooner.

As far as the x51v itself, the VGA is beautiful.

I love the device but it is a 2.5 to 3 I come from a long line of palm devices 500, 515 and t3 and I loved them also I just got mad at palm for not including wifi which it did with the latest models but I said too little too late. and switched it was a deep process but I like it. The problems are and have been numerous I have gotten a new unit but its still very slow loading alarms dont work at times takes long time for small word files to load and just aint right. I looked at my daughters palm x22 and it is a blaze works real fast and has no problems I have an x51v and a06 they need to fix this thing cant stand the slow load at least the white screen of death is gone
