Installing Visual CE v6.0 on X51v

Hello all,

I having a problem that I hope someone here can help with. I have some forms written in Visual CE which are for use on the PDA, and on a previous handheld (X50) all worked ok. I am now trying to use the forms on the X51v, but it seems that I cannot get Visual CE installed. The forms are on the PDA, but they're just sat there displaying the windows icon as they're not associated with any program.
I've tried to install Visual CE with the PDA linked, and all appears to work, but when checking the PDA afterwards, nothing installed???

My guess is that Visual CE 6 doesn't associate itself with your form files on your x51v because WM5 compatibility didn't arrive until v9.2 (scroll down to the release notes for v9.2 here for the documentation).

I would fire an email off to the folks over at Syware and see what they say. They may very well suggest that you upgrade... .

Yep, that was it. After e-mailing Syware they confirmed that v6.0 will not run on WM5. Oh well, looks like someone will be busy re-doing the forms in the latest version once I've got the go ahead to buy it (fortunately I won't be doing the programming :D)

You shouldn't have to redo the forms, just reinstall the vicert.exe and the rcert.exe files from the latest version.
