A2dp Support For Axim X51!!!!!
found these on hofo and xda-developers
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...37#post7148737
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=48491
you need to run these 2 files
Tor_A2DP_cert.cab
Tornado_A2DP.cab
though these files are for HTC Tornado-based devices (T-Mobile US SDA, Qtek 8300, Imate SP5M), but I also read the reports that other HTC devices running WM5 works (T-Mobile MDA, Dopod 818pro, Qtek S200.....)
since X51(v) is also HTC device, then I give a try
OH MY GOODNESS, IT WORKS!!!!!
at least on my X51v!!!!!
after running these 2 files, you need to either soft reset or full power off
then go to bluetooth>devices>new partnership
make sure your bt stereo client is ready to pair
after that, you should see "Wireless Stereo", check it
then tap and hold the client>set as Wireless Stereo
BAM!!!!! YOU GOT IT:approve:

Confirmation on functionality
Hi,
Just wanted to give my THANKYOU! Well done!
Wanted to start from scratch any way - did a hard reset (fastest way to get the Widcom out of the system for me) - installed two CAB files - did soft reset - IT WORKS!
While writing this I'm listening to my iTech Dynamics BlueBAND - and not one time they have skipped until now. The iTech are really junk - with most other A2DP up against them they have done the usual 2 seconds skipping every 20-40 seconds of music. I don't say they are good now - the sound quality is still lousy (worse than A2DP should be).
I'm more pleased with this solution than the "Widcom project" - only A2DP though.
Now I'm just waiting for my Plantronics 590 to arrive :approve:
Just My Five Cents :) Will
Correction - The Itech just did a skip - only half a second - barely noticed it

With my 51v it does not work.
I do not why it doesnot work.
PDA can find Plantronics 590 well and I can see stereo mode options and Headset icon at the top area. But after 1 second, I cannot hear any music from bluetooth headset.

After reading a bit on the xda-developers forum it sounds as if there should be support for AVRCP and HF as well as HS profiles. When tapping my iTech BlueBAND device in Bluetooth - Devices there is a greyed out option for "Set as Hands-Free". The iTech's are both A2DP, HF and HS capable so it must be in the software. xda-developers forum mentioned some additional files - are they all in the CAB file or should I try to get them as well?
"The World is not Enough" I know it
:) Will

i think i'll go ahead and throw my weight in on this one... THIS WORKS!!! AND THANK YOU GOD!!! I've been holding on to my Palm TX because even THAT supports a2dp (not natively mind you.. 3rd party software.. but it works.. and works well). The only other thing i can hope for is support for network sharing (bluetooth) with my laptop. (wifi goes in and out). and i can also confirm that AVRCP DOES WORK. YES.. this is SWEET!!! Smicael.. i'm using the HT 820.... i love 'em!!! One thing tho.. if you're planning on using them with an mp3 player (not just your axim) you'll need a working 3.5mm dongle... you can check out an ongoing discussion for compatable ones at this site.
http://www.expansys.com/forum.asp?code=124523
and also pick up the DC 800 if you plan on using it at home.. fun fun fun.

I just wanted to say that I tried this and it works even with widcomm installed at the same time.
However, It seems no A2DP solution is perfect. With widcomm, I get compression artifacts, the odd skipping, occasional disconnect, and some cracking, with this, I get perfect quality audio with the exception of a constant high pitched tone in the audio, luckily the tone is not very loud, but it is clearly audible and quite annoying. Also, this solution has a big advantage over widcomm, the audio link can be established by pressing the button on the headphone, with widcomm, it has to be manually connected in the control panel. Btw I am using the logitech bluetooth stereo headphones.
Overall, I'm not sure which one I'll keep using. Maybe there is a way to fix this?
