Active Sync not detecting X50v

Well just bought an Axim X50v second hand off someone else, however i connect it to my pc and the sound comes up that a usb device has connected. Then the usual device found window pops up and i cancel all that knowing you have to use active sync. I go to active sync and do the getting connected thing however it does not recognize my x50v. What am i doing wrong?

Did you get an original CD that you installed ActiveSync from/with? Since it was secondhand, my first thought is that maybe the Axim drivers weren't loaded, so when you plug the x50v in, the system doesn't know what was plugged in?

Just a hunch...
