Menneisyys, your article refers to v 5.7.2 for wm2003. The trial page lists 6.1 for wm5 (specifically dell x51v), and I think fclifton is looking for trhat one. Do you have a link to directly DL this cab (if its not the same runtime).

Oh, thanks for the article and link. I had registered with IBM so long ago that I forgot my info. I needed to reinstall to my x50v.

Wowz, thanks for the heads up. I'll test 6.1 and also upload the CAB file somewhere so that you don't end up having to download the entire installer.

Will only publish it tomorrow morning (European time) - just testing its midlet compliance with some midlets that failed under 5.7.2. Also found out that it's also compatible with WM2003(SE), which also requires some testing.

An excerpt from the work draft of the article so that you can get the installer before I publish the full article:

"Note that there’re several versions there. Much as it’s not very hard for anyone that knows the Java and the WindowsCE terminology like the palm of his or her hand to get around, for others this may be pretty hopeless. For them, I’ve made available three ZIP files. They are the ZIP files included in the downloadable EXE versions; they’re all you’ll ever need. You can find the QVGA MIDP version here http://www.winmobiletech.com/052006I...317-111429.zip, the VGA MIDP version here http://www.winmobiletech.com/052006I...317-111429.zip and the Personal Profile 1.1 version here http://www.winmobiletech.com/052006I...317-111429.zip.

Just do what in the \docs\install.pdf file is said inside the ZIP file."

Yes, for some reason, it's MUCH slower than under 5.7.2. I'll still testing the stuff so I'm not really sure the cause for this.

I will contact IBM on this matter. (I have quite good experiences with software developers in this matter. For example, the Opera folks have let me make the the UA spoofed, hexedited Opera DLL's available.)
