I am not exactly sure what you are saying...do you want to have different icons that would take you to the games and stuff or do you want different folders?

I want to organise my program list which appears in wisbar advance. I have the feeling it layout is the same as the program folder. Because my program list is so long I want to make catogories in it like, games, office, navigation, fun stuf, calculator etc. In those catogories i would like to put some programs in it.
This to make my programs list to the size of my screen. not scrolling 3 time to get down.

I think I understand a little more. The categories should be possible through making folders in the menu (this can be done by going into \Windows\StartMenu\Programs and making the new folders in there and putting your various items in the folders). Let me know if this works (or if it still isn't what you are looking for, maybe I will understand better with another post).

I think you understand it correctly. But how can I make a folder or change the position of my software program. When i do windows>programs i only can choose a program to open. I can't make folders or change something.

by what you just said, about being able only to open prgrams and not to create folders and such, it would appear that you are using the built in file explorer (a pretty weak application in my opinion).
You will need a different file explorer (I personally use Resco File Explorer - there are others out there). Once you get the other file explorer, and follow the instructions I gave above, about going in to \windows\start menu\programs, you should be perfectly able to make a new folder. You can get the 'New Folder' option in the menu of resco (once again, a great program I would suggest you try out). Once you have made a new folder with the different file explorer, it is just a matter of cutting and pasting the various programs links from one folder to another (this is done by long-clicking until the menu comes up with options like cut, paste, copy, etc. and then cutting it and getting to the new folder you made and pasting it.
Let me know if you have any other qeustions on the matter :)

I get it organised with resco. The only problem is that there are in my program list which aren't in the startmenu folder. Like Word, Excel, calculator. Do you know where i can find them to arrange in the folder .....

I am sure they are there. They might not show up in the program list because you have them selected as showing up in the start menu itself. If this is the case, go into 'Settings' and deselect everything that you listed as showing on your start menu (Start > Settings > Menu). After removing everything from there (uncheck EVERYTHING), go back in to Resco File Explorer and see if those programs are there now...they should be. Since they are now there, you should be able to put them in the folders you want.
If I have totally misunderstood what you were trying to tell me, I apologize.
If I answered your question then that is great.
Once again, let me know if you have further questions on this :)
p.s. I realized today that you don't have to use Resco (or another thrid party file explorer) to do what I have told you. BUT, it makes it TONS easier. I was working on my brother-in-law's PDA phone and man, it was hard to use the limited built in file explorer. I hope you are enjoying the resco one you are using.

I tried what you wrote. But it didn't work. I think that the programs who aren'tlisted in the startmenu of resco are all built built in applications from microsoft. Like word, excel, msn, media player. All other programs are listed. So the question is now where can i find the build build in applications to change in the startmenu.
I hope this makes the question easier.

I get your question. I have recreatetd what you are doing on my PPC and I can find those .lnk's just fine. Rather than going into \windows\start menu\programs to look for them, just select them again to be in your start menu (Start > settings > Menus...you know how to do this) and then try going into \windows\start menu. You should see the desired files listed there. That is where I see them, because they are in the start menu itself, not in the program folder.
I be that will take care of you.

Hey aquagga. You could have done the same New Folder thing in the built in File Explorer. At first you went Start > Programs. From there you cannot make new folders. However, if you had opened up File Explorer > Program Files, you would have seen the list of your programs. Then going to MENU, you would have seen New Folder as an option. Just FYI.
I, personally, own Resco File Explorer also. I like it's better functionality over the built in one. I just wanted to clarify that the New Folder option does exist in the built in File Explorer.
Good luck with it.

Very true, about the built in File Explorer being able to do the new folder. I thought of that after I had thrown my support behind Resco with one of my first posts in here. As was mentioned above, I love the extra functionality of Resco, though.
Concerning going into programs files, that isn't the best way to go. I am completely unable to find the excel and word files that are being looked for. Additionally, not always is there a .lnk file in there to get, so one would have to make a shortcut of it first.
Simply put, going into thst windows area is MUCH faster and simpler. FYI, that can be done with the built in explorer as well :)

Stil can get it done. When I select it to be in my program list it stands there when I touch my windows icon. Except when i want to change that the program isn't listed in the startmenu folder.
Where can I find the build in applications which are standard in my pda.
When I use the seach function for example word. It says windows/startmenu/program when i open the folder i can't find the file for word. Where is it. Could it be hide somewhere in the list. So yes how can I make it unhided.
I have found it. In the build in explorer the files like word are mentioned. In resco they waren't but now it works.
tnx

I understand what you are getting at, talking about the applications that came in the ROM, but honestly, this should be working :) (yes, I know SHOULD does not mean IS).
Let me check right now...
Alright, have checked. I searched the entire system and I got hits in the following location: \windows\start menu and \windows\start menu\programs\MS Office.
Just so you don't go looking for the MS Office folder, I made that one myself. You might want to try turning off wisbar and then seeing if you can find the files, I am not sure if that has any affect.
Also, you may want to search all the folders you have in the programs folder (\windows\start menu\programs\'all_of_your_folders'). They really have to be there.
Let's hope this takes care of things...by the way, is your axim in english or another language?

Most things are in English some in dutch. I found it where it stands. The only thing I don't get when I am in the same folder with the build in explorer en the resco explorer. In the build in explorer I see al the applications from the rom. By resco they aren't show. So I changed it with the build in explorer as i like it. But wil use resco because it nice and better then total commander imo.
