How to kill appl. install at start-up

I rebooted my Axim X51v and at the same time on desktop run an install of soft for PDA. I found PDA struck at start-up, offering a location to install - Device/SD Card, but frozen, even a soft reset does not react - only removing battery, but situation is the same - at start-up a request to choose location ..

Any advice before using hard reset?

Did you try mCube's SafeMode or the Safe Mode of Spb Pocket Plus 3.x? (Additional info: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=763595 )
