Please help a novice!!
Hi to all you tech-savvy people here on Aximsite. I've been a lurker here for some time and admit that I understand only a fraction of what transpires here. I'm a science/medical geek trying to understand your language to get my axim (x51v) to do some cool stuff (ok, basic stuff to all of you, but cool to me). I'd like to be able to use it as an mp3 player and have a few questions. I was hoping someone would take pity on me and give me the idiot's guide to making this work.
I have WMP10 on my desktop. I have a bunch of music in wma form which I ripped from CD's. Here are my questions:
1. Do I have to convert the wma files to mp3 files? If so, is it because they are smaller and will take up less space on my ppc?
2. Can you recommend a converter (Free?) that is pretty idiot-proof so I can do this?
3. Can I click and drag the files directly into the "My Music" file or should I put them on my CF card? Will windows media on my ppc recognize/find them if the files are on my CF card?
Ok, I think that's it for now. I can almost see the eye-rolling as you read this!!:rolling: Many thanks in advance to any of you who are kind enough to take the time to help me out!
Lost in AximSpace,
Steph
