Aximsiteactivesyncicon Active Sync 4.1 & some sinking problems

Hi everyone,

Got mine a few months ago. At the moment it is a heavy mp3 player & contact book, but i still love my X51V anyhow. My problems are,

i) synching incomplete esp. media files. However i installed Active Sync 4.1 on my pc and everthing is dandy, thank god. However, i still can't update my pda itself. It is still version 4.0.I've copied the .exe file to my pda and clicked. But it says it's not for pocket pc application.Got it from WM5 website. Is there something wrong with my method of installing software? Is it really important for both pc/pda to have same version?

ii)I simply can't set Microsoft Outlook as my default client. As it downloading my email,it just gives me an error report, connecting me to WindowsXP website to update. And god knows,i have updated all of them.Still same problem.Funny thing my Outlook Express works fine.Luckily i use yahoo for my emailing. All my contacts details are on my pda and i cant sync it to my laptop.

iii) Got a few more dumb ones for you guys, but later....

Peace from Malaysia,

Zool (Yeah...as in the gate keeper in ghostbusters..)

Hi and welcome to aximsite.com. First off remember the Axim is not waterproof so it will have sinking problems. :)
Activesync which is used to sync your axim is meant to reside on the desktop. As long as you have 4.1 installed on your desktop you should be fine.
Sorry I can't help you with the microsoft outlook feature as I have not downloaded email to my ppc as of yet.

2. "i still can't update my pda itself. It is still version 4.0.I've copied the .exe file to my pda "
< What do u mean ??? You said you already installed 4.1 ....

if you install 4.2, sometime you still cannot sync
i think that have to do with program install on your PDA
