A couple things I do. Any program that saves information to a card on a regular basis (rss reader, avant-go, Journal Bar, what ever) I have that info saved on my 2 gig cf card with all my MP3s. On my 1 gig SD card I have all my programs and other 'static' information. The information on my SD card doesn't change much and I don't want to loose it.
It seems like the more often you write to a card, the better chance something corrupt will get written. After 3 months my SD card has no errors from Scan Disk. My CF card has had a few errors, but not many.
I back up my SD card once a month, or when I make some major changes. The CF card I back up less. I am not worried about the CF card - if the data gets corrupt I will reformat and then copy my stuff back - no big deal.
