Compatability in Europe?

Hello All from a completely new NEWBE.

I plan on ordering my X51V on Thursday per advice I've read regarding sweet/new deals released on this day. However, before I do so, does anyone know anything related to the following???
1. I'll be moving to Turkey and traveling throughout Europe for the next year (job). I'm told the European WiFi network is much more advanced than the US and available in every airport/cafe/street corner. Anyone know anything about this?
2. Is the European bandwidth the same as the US (if I order my unit in the US, will it still connect while over there?)?
3. Concerning the software connectivity programs....are there any which I should consider in light of the obvious travels between countries (assuming some have different protocols)?

Re European WiFi (I'm here, I know) it's far from available all over. In major towns or City sites you can usually find a free WiFi somewhere, but you might have to wakl a bit to find one! Most mid market hotel groups have versions of WiFi you have to pay for. Some trains too!

WiFi == WiFi, the only difference is that in several states of the US youre not alowed to send on channel 13.
