Dell axim completely frozen! Help!

I tried to hard reset my axim 51v ( newly bought)
but it is frozen @ the reset message .

I tried to push all buttons but it is still frozen !

Which buttons did you press to hard reset? (You should be holding down the power button while doing a soft reset.) Did you check the lock switch at the left hand side?

I had the same problem happen to me previously. try taking out all storage cards and trying again. it should work this time (or at least that's what worked for me).

Removing the battery unfortunately has no effect on WM5 devices.

Why would you say that? It certainly does. Its the same as pulling the plug out of your PC while you're using it.

Dell Support Rep on 1/12/06: Only a small number of users are having issues (WM5 on x50v)... Dell will be releasing (update for x50v) but it will not be soon.

Actually, I had same problem with X50v using WM5. It completely frozen nothing could help, so Dell exchange it. And it happen couple times so I decided to use 2003SE and it working perfectly.

Because of persistent storage in WM5, draining the device of all power will not result in a hard reset.
