x50v x51v differences

I'm wondering if the only difference between the x50v and x51v is the different OS and more ram. If this is true, than there should be no difference in video playback or gaming, correct?

You are correct. I used both as well and didn't notice any difference in video playback or games.

Thanks for the help. I am starting to favor the x50v more now. I like the idea that it is only $200 refurbished also.

Can a refurbished item have any screen damage? (scratches) (dead pixels)?

TFJetfire, i do not completely agree,

Since the X50v has wm2003 (by default) and wm2003 has much better vsync while playing video, you must notice the quality is better.

On the X51v I can clearly see screen tearing and white/black fading isn't fluent.
(You can see this with tcpmp playing the matrix trailer/demo)

If you upgrade the X50v to WM5, you will get the same video playback as with the X51v so you can conclude it's a OS thing.

One other thing, some games won't install on WM5.. but thats more a bug in the installer/programming/game then the PDA.

However, it's not a show stopper for buying the x51v (or in fact, getting wm5) :)

Hello, I was just wondering how intense vga games like quake look on the x50v or x51v. Are they great games that you can't put down or :lame: games? Are the controls precise and easy, or awkward and annoying?

Considering to buy a x51v.
(15% off - right now)

IF I'm not satisfied with wm5 will it be possible to use 2003se ?
And where do I get it from ?

I was thinking of getting a refurbished x50v on ebay for $200. Can a refurbished item have any screen damage? (or drawbacks)?

No, you cannot use 2003se on the X51v.

You can however use either on the X50v, but WM5 will run better on the X51v than the X50v.

I have seen a few refurbished Axims and they look brand new. No scratches or dead pixels.

Another difference is that the X51 has no backup battery. It is claimed that with WM 5 this is not necessary.
