record + dpad up and down = adjust brightness?

I was playing a game and figured out that pressing the record button and up and down at the same time turn of the backlight. I this a built in feature? or have I installed some annoying app that does this :) If it is a built in feature is it possible to turn it off?

I forgot to mention that I have a x50. Well I agree that it could be a nice feature, but it would also be nice to be able to turn it off :)

I have done further research into the matter and it seems like the buttons are locking eachother out. By doing a hard reset I lost the "feature" to turn on/off backlight. I still can't use the dpad while pressing the record button. I guess I just have to live with that or is it someway to fix it?
