Aximsitex50icon Buttons remapping + more

Which software will help me to remap hard buttons for different purpose?

I'd like to have dual functionality for the buttons ( press - Function1, press+hold - Function2)

How can I arrange to have Volume control on hard buttons? And brightness control? (Without using stylus of couse )

Back in my palm days, there was freeware that had this functionality. I have yet to find the equivalent for the x50v.

Believe or not but the search function on this site actually works. For example this thread turned up when searching for "button mapping".

You can read this review at the end of it, I did an english translation of freeware btnplus (But it doesn't work on WM5). Link for it is on one of the last posts.

When I was comparing apps, DoubleLauncher was the only app that let you assign a true "page up/page down" to a hardware button.
Unlike the scroll up/scroll down that most other apps include I wanted a page up/page-down that functions just like the page up/page down on a desktop/laptop.
To me it is invaluable for one-handed web surfing and ebook reading.

I also use DoubleLauncher. I had issues with other button mappers I've tried although issues usually come down to what works for you.

Now, AEBPlus (and the outdated, non-WM5-compliant buttonMax) also support it. Did you try AEBPlus? IMHO, it's far superior to DoubleLauncher in almost every respect - and is free.

new spb pocket plus 4.0 also allows you second layer of button actions by "holding" the hardware button for longer and loading a different app.

I'm testing a couple button mapper progs, but the problem is that I have more buttons than the software will recognize. For example, Vito Buttonmapper only recognizes 4 buttons, and I have 7 plus a d-pad. What registry tweaks can I employ to fix that?
