Deleting Protected/In Use Files

So I transferred some Font files from my laptop for a program on my Axim that needed them. I decided not to keep the program, so I deleted it, and now don't need the font files (they're in Main Memory/Windows/Fonts). Unfortunately, the Axim seems to have latched onto the Font, and is using it in odd places (nothing severe, but I don't like how it put Times New Roman into some of my Menus). Unfortunately, because the operating system is using these files for some things now, it won't let me delete them since they are in use. Anyone have any suggestions (other than a hard reset, of course, because that would be a pain to reinstall everything).

Thanks!

I've had luck re-naming the file in the font directory to something like "font.die", doing a soft reset and then deleting it.

I had the same problem but renaming it didn't work with the built-in File Explorer or with Total Commander. Resco Explorer finally got rid of it.

BTW, there is a utility called Font on Storage that allows you to store fonts to storage card. I've tried it but haven't been able to get the fonts to display properly.

Thanks for the suggestions. Renaming didn't work despite a soft reset. Resco Explorer though gave me no problem deleting an in-use file (which could be an issue of its own really... Anyway, thanks again all.

Something that usually works is to cut and paste the file(s) to the temp directory, than soft reset. 99.95% of the time you can delete the file(s) from the temp and they're totally gone once this is done.
