Tips: Unrecognized Card error with CF card
I just bought a Ridata 8GB CF card to fill the unused CF slot. When I inserted the card, there was an error message saying "Unknown Card in Socket 1." I searched this Forum and other places, many said that this problem cannot be fixed because the card was simply not compatible.
I just want to share my experience that a CF card actually may be compatible (as in my case) but simply not recognized at the beginning because it needs a HARD reset somehow (of course you should backup all your data first).
In my case, I almost wanted to pack everything and take the pain to return it. But then I thought may be one of the many programs that I loaded into my x51v is interfering with the CF card. So I decided to do a HARD reset (soft reset didn't help). After that, File Explorer can see my card and the videos that I have transfered to the card (from my desktop PC). Then I restore all my programs from my backup file and everything seems fine.
Of course, I do believe some CF cards indeed are not compatible. But the Ridata 8GB 150x Silver is fine.
