ROM upgrade form A05 to A08

Howdy,

My axim has the A05 rom. My question is: is it necessary to upgrade to the latest A08 and what are the pros and cons of the new rom?

A08 does not exist as a download; it was only available on some X50v devices upon delivery.

Woah nelly... This A08 is for '03SE or WM5? Such a shame I'm missing out on 3 revisions :D

Maybe it solves the button-lag issue...yeah, that would explain why people with the newer crop of X50v's don't have that darn button lag...

But I think I'm off topic here, sorry ;)

The Dell upgrade site still lists R114959.EXE from 1/2/2006 as its latest ROM upgrade. That upgrade is listed as A06 when applied to the X51V.

We're talking about the X51 mid (not v), as per mikeh's signature... I think... :hide:

Yes, this is for my x51 mid. So do I then have the latest rom?(A05)

Mikeh, you have the latest ROM. Not only that, but your X51 mid will never run A08.
For some reason, Dell decided to divide the ROM numbers between the V and non-V models starting with X51 series, so you would get A07, and an X51V would get A08. I wonder if they are toying with A07 yet...
