PIE cache limit for WM5 (Axim 51v)

Hi everybody!

I tried to look for an answer on the forum and in other places, with no success.

The problem is that when I reboot my Axim, the "PIE cache limit" setting get restored to 66564, I cannot change it! I believe that the setting is a registry entry (though I tried to change it through SKTools, not directly through regedit).

It looks like the system "protects" the value. Btw, running PIE after changing the value seems to obey the new setting, and does not try to restore it. Soft resets do restore, though...

Did anybody encounter anything similar? Thanks!

I jus moved the cache to sd card goto www.pocketpctweaks.com to see how to do it cuz I dunno it from the top of my head, and if u don't want those files on the sd card jus simply eject the card, then pie jus won't cache at all.

Thanks Eric12341,
The problem is that I usually have SD inserted.

Of course, I can try to write-protect the cache folder (though never did that with folders on mobile), but it looks very strange if there is no direct way to forbid caching...

No, silly Microsoft just ignores write-protection on folders :(

What is more, I can prevent caching by deleting the cache folder and putting there a file with the same name, but in that case PIE cannot use cookies.

Apparently, it is obvious from the creators' point of view that without cache a user does not need cookies too.

What really works is placing a registry export file with right values in the Startup folder.
