X50 Internet connection problem

I have a Axim X50 windows mobile 2003 second edition and have been having problems getting onto websites. I don't know much about computer, or pda's for that matter and i am in desperate need of help. I have talked to dell support staff and they tell me one thing and it doesnt work, and i have talked to people who are tech support for the network im trying to connect to neither have solutions. so here is the problem I am at college and our university has a wireless network anywhere on campus but i am unable to access it due do not having the VPN. at this point i will do anything to get access to the internet...i figured i paid the money to get the thing with wireless internet card built in i should be able to get connected. it is still under warranty too. Do i need to download a newer version of the windows or what? if someone could please make sense of this it would be greatly appreciated! thanks

i forgot to say that when im on campus it says that i am connected to the network and everything...just can't access web pages....please help im completely lost

If you have purchased air time on a wireless system, the connection should be straight forward. Just open your explorer which should go to the home page of the network and key in the PIN number if it is a pre-paid, or if you have an account with your ISP, you should be on line straight away.

some college networks have problems with wifi,I went through that too especially on wm2003se.
