Switching back to screen keyboard from ThinkOutside BT keyboard (X50v, WM5)

Hi all,

Since I installed Windows Mobile 5.0 on my X50v I'm pretty sure I was able, at least once, to switch back to the on-screen keyboard after using my Dell-branded ThinkOutside "Stowaway" Bluetooth keyboard, but I cannot recall the steps. Could someone please provide them to me?

Here's what's NOT working for me. When I tap the keyboard icon at the bottom right of the screen, I get the configuration screen for the Stowaway keyboard (the BT board). There is no drop-down list containing the default on-screen keyboard.

When I tap Start/Settings/Input and change the selection in "Input method" from "Stowaway Keyboard" to "Keyboard," then click "ok," I still do not get the on-screen keyboard. When I re-open the "Input" screen, my selection evidently didn't take--"Stowaway Keyboard" is once again the selected input device.

I should mention that I have turned off Bluetooth before performing the above steps and it made no difference. I have version 4.4 of ThinkOutside's driver for the BT keyboard (which, coincidentally, is for both their keyboard and their mouse, the latter of which I do not have).

For what it might be worth, I solved my problem (at least in part). Opening Word after having selected "Keyboard" on the "Input" screen (Start/Settings/Input) got the on-screen keyboard running. It appears it may be enough to open an app that makes use of the keyboard for input right after changing the "Input" selection to get the latest selection to "take."
