Ohh yes, defiantly. I used to love PockPlus a while ago... Although I'm more of an iLauncher guy now... iLauncher has the same feature too.

It just depends what type of software you are looking for.

Biggest bang for the buck:
  1. Close, rather than minimize, your programs. I use SBSH iLauncher myself, but there are a number of alternatives. I am actually running both Spb PocketPlus and SBSH iLauncher simultaneously; however, I did deactivate the Safe-Mode, Meter, and X=Close functions in Spb PocketPlus soas to not conflict with the similar functions in SBSH iLauncher.
  2. Move your data stores, especially those that are read-only, to memory cards.
  3. Soft reset. Seems obvious, but not everyone does it.
  4. Install programs to the SD and/or CF cards. Or move them there using SKTools.
  5. Uninstall programs you do not use.
  6. Clean up the Notification Queue. MemMaid, SKTools, ...
  7. Clean up temp files and the like. Again, SKTools, MemMaid, ...
  8. Choose carefully what Today Plug-Ins you activate.
  9. Evaluate what is in the StartUp list.

If you go with our RAM upgrade, your warranty with Dell will be invalid. Our warranty is 90 days and covers the upgrade only.

At this point, does anyone still have a warranty with Dell on any of their Axims?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned trying to change the amount of ram used for the pagepool. First, you need to get your hands on a nb0 file of the A12 WM5 dell rom. Then, follow the tutorial (found at Change PagePool for better speed on IPAQ hx4700/2xxx, dellx51(v) - Brighthand.com Smartphone and PDA Discussion Forums). It's written for a X51, but it still works on a X51v (or any other axim with WM5 os).

I tried the 16M Pagepool. Personally I didn't see any visible improvement upon running programs like 3D games, ArcGIS ArcPad software, or Garmin's Mobile XT. Of course, you (anybody) may beg to differ. It's worth a try.

If one really cared about increasing the amount of program memory availible (without upgrading amount of ram), they could just decrease the size of the pagepool (this helped me out with my X50(mid) when I was trying to get Visualboy Advanced to run with dell's WM5 A02 rom).
