Car cradle makes noise in my fm transmitter

Hi,

I've been using for a few months a akron 720 car cradle with my x51v.
Very nice cradle.

I just got an fm transmitter powered from usb, the akron 720 provides a free usb powering plug...

If I don't connect the x51v to the cradle powering source, I get a very good sound quality.
When connnected to the cradle, the sound gets noisy and I can hear some high frequency sounds which get higher with my car motor rpms.

Is there any simple way to 'denoise' the x51v power alimentation ?

Thanks

I have the same problem with my car charger. What FM transmitter are you using?

I have the same problem with mine, but only when I have my Axim plugged into the power supply.

If I'm running on battery only, then there is no noise.

This "Humm" you guys are hearing is the alternator whine of your car supplying power to the mount (hence the higher sound at higher rpms). You'll need a noise reducer or Ground loop isolator...something like this.

I solved a similar problem with my FM transmitter by installing a ground loop isolator between Axim's jack and FM transmitter's input.

I think the problem is caused by two different ground signals reaching the Axim at the same time: One in the cradle and another one in the jack.

Does your Axim lose the date/time when you change the battery?

Thx for answering guys

I have a service car from my job, I change quite often, it seems mikelspikel & Truth's solution is easy to use.

Where can I buy such a 'ground loop isolator' ?

PS : I'm living in France, Truth's linked shop doesn't ship international

Thanks

I think a ground loop isolator is a quite common device easily found in car audio stores.
