How to free RAM memory on X51v/WM5?

Hi,

I have on my X51v/WM5 about 28MB of free memory after softreset, out of the 47MB that should be free for running applications.
Can anybody tell me if that's normal (I have some today plug-ins: iLauncher, PocketWeather and PocketBreeze, and also WisBar Lite), and if it is possible to optimize that and how? After some time of opening and closing apps this figure goes down and down until I need a softreset !

Thanks

Same problem for me but seems to happen most when in the cradle. I will be interested in any help.

This is normal. With no extra programs and right after running Hibernate I have ~31MB free.

If you don't use odyssey client, you can replace the program file with a dummy file of the same name. This keeps a 2MB file from being loaded into RAM on startup.

Turn off your today plug-ins if you run a program that needs lots of RAM.

Run S-K-Tools' Free-up-RAM. This gives you about 2-3 MB by forcing WM5 to close unused program files.

These are the only things I know to free up RAM. The best you will have free is about 32MB.

If you need help for the above items, do a keyword search.

This is correct for a x50 with 2003se, but is it also valid for the x51 ?

Surprise ...

With either OS, Odyssey is loaded into RAM at startup.

Regardless of which OS, you will not gain ROM by overwriting the file. Only RAM.
