Just a warning, I installed this program and at the start i thought it was great then all of a sudden i couldnt connect to my router. For some reason the signal strength was poor and i was sitting right next to it.
I can hardly imagine how this tool can be the reason of that behavior. It only switches WiFi On and Off using exactly the same procedure the original Dell tool uses.

When the program is uninstalled the previous asignment of the button is restored. At least if it isn't changed after the installation. Anyway, as you say, you should have been able to restore the original behavior re-mapping the button.

Maybe your WiFi is working OK now thanks to the restored backup.
I don't believe this tool is the cause of the wrong WiFi behavior you experienced. If you liked it at the beginning, could you please try it again?

Odd - I saw exactly the same behavior as Jamin1000 tonight; it worked great, but then when I got home I could ping websites by DNS and PocketWeather updated, but attempting to open a web browser (NetFront, IE) both failed to load any websites, and the Connection icon in WBA2 never turned on, like it did previous nights.
I'm going to try a hard reset after this - uninstalling hasn't fixed the problem... and it only began after I uninstalled the Wireless Power application too. Weird.
update: Hard reset seems to have fixed a bunch of issues, so I took a backup while I was at it, of my clean system. ;) Now does anyone else here have problems with this 1.0.1 cab? It just says the Install was Unsuccessful when I run it, although 1.0 worked just fine - perhaps the CAB file is corrupted? I've deleted the file and redownloaded it to the Axim, both via WiFi and via a desktop download and copy-to-SD card.
Update #2: I can open the file fine with WinZip... but the Axim refuses to use it.
Humm, the last CAB I compiled yesterday was corrupted and failed to install. It's solved now.
The problems using WiFi some of you are experiencing cannot have anything to do with this tool. The setup only copies three files in \Program Files\Aximsite WirelessPower, places shortcuts for them and sets the registry entry for the hardware button. It doesn't change anything more, so WiFi should work exactly the same than before. If you turn on WiFi using the standard icon in today screen then no component of this tool is involved at all.

Well its strange that i had had not problems with my wifi until i installed this software. I had not installed anything else or changed anything else.
Then when i restore from a backup everything works fine. Dont get me wrong this application looked really good but i believe there are still bugs in it that need fixing.

No, I'm sorry. I tried to make it work before with the help of Aximsite member Womblin'free but I didn't manage to finish it. It's difficult not having the device to test. Switching BT works OK but WiFi doesn't.

Either way, the component downloads fine now, but I'm a little conflicted about the WPTray application. Had to manually change the button assignment via Vito ButtonMapper to use "Aximsite Wireless Power" to get it to work after the hard reset and install of 1.01, but it works as advertised.

Which are your device and OS? I haven't tried wptray in X50* WM2003. Maybe it doesn't work in that platform.

Well, I just installed it on my X50V ( WM2003 ).
The program works great but the 'wptray.exe' does nothing.
It is loading and I can see it on my task bar but it's not functioning

I've done a couple of changes to wptray and the CAB. Could you try to download it again (from here) and re-install? It should work now.

Is there a way to have this work while removing the shortcuts from the start menu?
The button assignment applet seems to only allow you to assign buttons to files that have a shortcut in start menu so you'll lose this feature if you remove the shortcuts. Anyway, I think wptray should work ok without the shortcuts, so you'd be able to launch the tool from the icon in the bottom of today screen.

Hate to ask this but how/where do you install this? The file I downloaded contains a setup file but it is an xml. I tried copying the files to my axim and running from there but that didn't work either.
