Lost notes in recurring appointments

I have not seen any real solution to this related old thread issue. Hopefully, this new thread will get an answer. I have notes (diaries of sorts) under recurring appointments I use to track certain "projects" I'm working on. When the appointment (project) ends (usually months after it starts), I need to delete/stop the recurrences of the appointments (project). When I do this I lose all of my notes/diaries entered in the past. Is there anyway to stop a recurring appointment without affecting any of the past inputted notes (I believe Dell calls them "exceptions")???

Please help,

w.v.

Hi wvishere,

What hardware, OS and ROM are you using?

Also, have seen/are you referring to this thread?

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=81197

Assuming your issue is related to the lost contact and note problem, I’m a little unsure of your question as it appears to be a specific case of a more general problem. If Dell were to resolve the larger problem, I’m thinking your problem would also be fixed, no? Further, I don’t think Dell would solve a specific case of a problem, yours, without addressing the bigger problem.

I resolved the issue down to ensuring the note application was closed by clicking ‘ok’ or using switcher bar replacement for ‘ok’, implying db commit, before switching away from note application. This works as interim step but X51V replacement is on the way.

Please let me know if I can help.

Thanks,

Dave

Superdave, I may have the wrong guy, but I was referring to the following thread/question: "When i try to end or alter recurring appointments, i get a message "all exceptions will be lost". I don't want that to happen, as i want a record of exceptions to refer back to, i don't want my history to be altered. does anyone know a way around this?"

I have an Axim X50v and my desktop is Windows XP Home Edition...

Thank you... consider my notes mostly irrelevant to your issue... Dave
(P.S. I was enquiring which OS you have on your PDA, 2003 or WM5 – this may be helpful to others tackling your issue. Thx)
