The Windows Mobile logo reminded me of the horrible sinking feeling I got when my previous pda inexplicably drained its battery and hard reset!
I would rather not be reminded of that.

Dude, I not sure what your previous PDA was but one of the major improvements of WM5 over WM2003SE is the battery draining things. Don't worry about it but hey, lets try and figure out how to change it like logo.sys in WinXP. Word!

In looking into this, I found the program SplashV.exe. I can guess what it does, but I can't do anything with it due to a complete lack of programming skills.

See it as the bios screen of you PC... the Windows Mobile image seems to be located in /windows but i think overwritng deos't work... if i am intepreting gadgetnerd correctly
