How to replace the boring WM File Explorer with Resco Explorer?
This might seem like a noob question, but I forget how I had it working before.
I just did a hard reset on my device and installed Resco Explorer 2005 once again. But every time I click on a shortcut to a folder, it brings up the ugly File Explorer and not the Resco Explorer.
An example for this is when I use WAD and I make a shortcut to go to a directory, it would actually open Resco Explorer and not the WM File Explorer. How can I get this setting back?
Thanks.
P.S: I'm using the new Resco Explorer 5.40

It is a checkbox under the General Options of Resco Explorer.

That checkbox didn't do the trick for me...
EDIT: I had the idea of reverting back to the older version (5.35) to see if that would make a difference, but it didn't.

Anyone? This thing is driving me nuts. I have even posted on their forum and got no reply, sadly.

Maybe its something to do with the File Associations located within Resco File Explorer. Its in the options somewhere.
I don't know that folder properties would be affected though.
If this doesn't help then it'll prolly require a registry hack. Try searching the reg for the file explorers .exe file. Maybe you can change this to the resco explorers path.
Have you tried the WAD forums? I'm sure this is a common problem that could be found on a forum specifically to that program.

I think you have to set the explorer in the WAD-options but i'm not sure because i don't use WAD anymore.

This is along the same lines I think. I replaced file xplorer with Resco as well. When I put shortcuts on the desktop for SPB pocket plus for a folder, it opens with plain file explorer and not Resco. Is there away around this?
If not, can someone tell me if there is a way to have regular file explorer do file associations? That is the main thing I wish it could do. Thanks.
Mike

If that's only what you'd need from Resco, I recommend the free myExtensions ( http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/myextensions.shtml ). Install it, run it and click OK on the first screen. Choose the given extension from the list. In the Command: field, enter the path to the program you want to invoke and, then, "%1" (note the trailing "%1"!)

Are you using iLauncher and launching the shortcut to a folder from there (I see iLaucher in your MyPDA profile)?
If so, go to iLauncher settings > Options > General Settings > Folder Open With App and change to whatever program you want to open up your folders from there.

I wasn't using iLauncher, I was using SPB Pocket Plus. But after you mentioned iLauncher could do that, I decided to download the trial and you were correct. So I am gonna see how I like iLauncher compared to Pocket Plus, since I don't believe pocket plus will associate files like that (unless I just couldn't figure it out! always possible with me!). Anyways thanks for all the help. I appreciate it. Mike

You may want to read my direct comparisons of the two apps & other tips. See for example this article (and the older ones linked from it).

Ok, i've installed WAD. Tap on a free place on the Desktop. The MainMenu appears. Choose settings and there you can enter your default explorer. :)
