A12 - How to change to the Title Bar Clock - Step by step

How to change the Title bar battery to the clock

I know that many have written how to do this and put links to it. After changing mine to the international 24hrs clock, I thought I was done but doing a soft reset revert back to the battery. I was looking for the link to do this ans after spending over 10 minutes searching, I found a link on how to change this. This was created so other can find the instruction easily and also if you are not familiar with registry editing I included pictures too. :approve:

Open your registry editor program if you do not have one look here. Remember that your Axim CD contain also a free trial version if you do not want to buy at this time. Other vendors offer this for free.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell

Click Menu -> New -> DWord Value

Enter ShowTitleBarClock in the name field as per the image below

Replace the value 0 with a 1 in the DWORD Data field

Click Done and verify that you have an entry as per the image below.

Exit out of the registry editor.

Thank you Frenchy!
For Wisbar Advance users, you can change the clock as shown in the picture below, with these settings:

-Clock Settings
-Display Small Clock on the dropdown window
-Time: h:mm tt
-Date Format: M/d/yy
-Check Show Time
-Uncheck Show Date

it works for me, but after this modification I have some fuzzy colour lines instead of Resco Today so I had to undo this trick, now my Resco Today is displayed correctly again.

I made the change and it worked apart from when I am on the today screen where it still shows the battery icon. It shows the time on every other screen. Any idea why and what else I should do?

Thank you ver much. The battery symbol was not the best idea and I was breaking my head to get rid of it.

clock loses correct setting?

Hi all,

I have an Axim X51V with ROM A12.

I applied the clock & date hacks, and am able to see them in the title bar.

A few days ago I noticed that the clock was running very late, and wasn't able to pinpoint the reason.

I have AS4.2, and checked the TOOLS OPTIONS setting. I have the "synchronize pocket pc date and time upon connecting" option checked.

Today I synched just before leaving to a meeting, a few minuted before 16:00. At about 18:30 I checked my calendar, and saw that the clock showed 16:30! I performed a SR, and the clock has shown the correct time since.

In retrospect, I realize that this problem has been going on for a few days.

Does anyone have an idea what is going on?

Thanks!

I, too, can't get the registry change to stick. When I click Done and close the registry editor, the battery icon is still there. Did a soft reset; no change. Anybody know how to make the change stick?

Larry

Some members had to do this more than once to get it to stick. Othern had better successs with different reistry editor. I don't know why but you can try other registry editor to get this done for you. Resco regedit worked for me.
