Question How to force a hard reset?

I have a strange phenomenon:
I am trying to update my device (A06 ROM so far) to ROM image A12. Part of the procedure is to do a hard-reset.

But I can't hard-reset my device! I know, that in principle one should be able to hard reset the Axim X51v by pressing power-on while at the same time pressing the tiny reset-button at the rear at which time - I just double checked with the user's manual - there should appear a dialog asking for confirmation and that one should then be able to confirm (i.e. hard reset) by clicking the contacts button or decline the reset (by pressing the mail button).

But when I initiate this procedure I very shortly (may for half a second) see that dialog appearing but it immediately disappears again and the device reboots normally as if someone "magically" pressed the mail button.

Any idea what could cause this and how to force a hard-reset?

Yes. Everyone finished with the upgrade encountered the same thing. The first hard reset is really a soft reset, so the confirmation window just flashes by. Use the search. :)

Ah! True - just putting the device into the craddle and clciking continue after those resets continued the process. So it was only another case of misleading description. I already thought something's severely wrong with my device...

Thanks for telling me!
