Timeout password prompt drivin' me NUTS..

Ok, so i upgraded to a12.. That silly automatic timeout password prompt is driving me crazy. I keep my axim docked at my desk at work, and occasionally look to see if i have any new emails, or look at the latest radar images..

But now, thanks to the fine folks in Redmond, my device now goes into what I'd like to call the "signon" screen.. It's great in XP because you can disable it.. Anyone find a work around for it yet ??

Thanx...

is it the password protection screen?

disable? turn it off... (start, settings, lock, uncheck prompt is unused for)

or change it up... (say from 5 mins to 12 hours?)

hope this helps.

Yes, it's the password protection screen. Disabling it is not an option for me.. I've got far too much sensitive data on the device should i loose it somewhere in public. However, when i'm at my desk at work, it can afford to be unprotected. Nobody at work enters my office, nor would they even care to look at my pda. There has to be a registry tweak somewhere to change this..

I also need to use a password to protect my X50V. I have found that the default password lacks flexibility.

Take a moment an look at Pocket Secure http://www.totalpocketpc.com/ I have been using it for a year, and have no issues. The customer support is top-notch. :approve:

This is not a solution because the real problem now is that you can not use certain programs without typing password every period of time. For example, if you are running TomTom, you are using pda, however password screen appears like if pda was inactive when this is not true because is active (gps working).

Did anyone find a solution for this yet. Same problem with TomTom.

Can I downgrade back to A06?
