Attempt to upgrade to A12: Not supported?!

I've got an Axim that is a couple of months old -- it came with A06.

Now I read about A12 here on the forums so I carefully read a bunch of the threads, follow people's experiences etc.

When I attempt to run the update, it complains that my language or version is not supported. System Info reveals that My Axim is an English A06 model... X51V of course...

Has anyone else seen this? I've tried the update procedure from a brand-new desktop machine as well... still no go.

Is there anyone out there who might have an idea what's going on?

Try a hard-reset on your Axim first. This may clear up some strangeness going on with it.

Dell Support Rep on 1/12/06: Only a small number of users are having issues (WM5 on x50v)... Dell will be releasing (update for x50v) but it will not be soon.

Actually I neglected to mention that I did that ;-). Seeing as how that was the first in the suggested series of steps (after a backup), I did that.

Hmm... Are you sure you're using the updater for the VGA version?

Thank you so much! Some times it's the obvious that escapes us light-head types ;-)

I'd be really embarrassed except that I'm too busy being happy that I can now update my Axim!
