This post is subject to change. Possibly in the next few minutes. It's still in the testing stages.

It still seems to be working.

Man, even with the hack it's not working. I can't figure what the #^@% is going on.

I powered off my Ax last night, and left it not plugged in to anything.
This morning, I picked it up, the Wifi and bluetooth were flashing, but the screen was dark and blank. It wouldn't wake up without a soft reset.
So at work today I tried to duplcate the same thing, and I left a protocol analyzer recording any packets from its IP address. Nothing, it stayed off and behaved itself all day. I'll do the same at home tonight, and see if I can see when it wakes up, and if it tried to talk to anyone when it does.

I've tried that on my unit. Doesn't seem to help.Even with the advanced gapi hack and FST, it seems kind of random when it works and doesn't work.

Anyone found out a way to fix this "Axim turning itself on" problem? Chances are if you're using the FST, your device is still turning on without your noticing. One thing I have noticed in my testing, is that the unit doesn't turn itself back on right after you turn it off (I think it's about 5 minutes). For some reason, it waits for a few minutes before coming back on. Why, I have no idea. Maybe someone has some light they can shed on this.

Ok, not this battery drain is getting really annoying.. Overnight, its sucking the life out of my ax.. I killed activesync last night before i went to bed, and woke up to a dead axim.. I put it on charge, and powered up only to find out that activesync was still NOT RUNNING.. So, that leads me to believe that it has nothing to do with activesync. I can't seem to replicate the problem, i tried yesterday at work leaving out of the cradle with wifi on before i turned it off.. No luck.. Tried with and without activesync, no luck..

someone please, this is driving me nuts..

Yea this is wierd. I can verify the anything having to do with the FST doesn't work. I had the FST within the first 5 minutes of upgrading to A12. I tried the modified FST and still nothing. I'll pull my Axim out of the case a few times a day and turn on the screen. Sometimes it'll be the way it was last time I check, while other times it'll be a big difference. WiFi and BT are both off and it seems that it almost "turns them back on" or something.

I've always had a good habit of turning wifi and bt off before shutting off the axim screen. But this morning I woke up to a White screen with the green wifi light blinking... it was plugged into the charger so I guess it didn't die.

To be continued..... does anyone have this problem that is NOT using the FST. Maybe the FST is the problem?

I have the same problem and it is really frustrating! Turn all programs off, even did a soft reset, put Ax in sleep mode with battery showing 100%. In the morning turn Ax on and battery is showing 90%. I have also done the FST so I'm no help there. There is another thread on battery life talking about the same issues. We need to somehow get all of us talking in one place.:rolling:

Here's a thought.. All these rumors about Dell discontinuing their PDA products.. Maybe, the axims are calling home durring the middle of the night and sending dell info regarding our handheld usage ?? Ok, well maybe not..

Try: start, settings, system, power, bottom tab "use arrow to scroll" powerbutton, choose full power off. Hope this helps.
