Exclamation Power Drain with A12?

I've found that 2 days in a row, my axim was found in the morning dead when it had a full charge the night before.

Something is keeping the battery draining. The screen is off, I know. I do not know if it is wifi or bt being left on. Or something else. I have x51v A12 and Widcomm.

Does anyone have this same problem?

Normally turning off the screen is like a "suspend" which will turn off all radios. The first time I found this was while coming home from work where I had used my BT GPS reciever. At 5 O'Clock it was dead. I dismissed it as maybe I left the screen on in the case. But this morning it was dead again after using WiFi yesterday. I just installed the new WiFi/BT switcher included in .50 release of Widcomm. So maybe I turned BT on.

Maybe its the WiFi? I'm not sure.

SOLVED!
A second HR fixed my problems! I set it up like normal, turned on WiFi and BT, left it overnight. Woke up at 95% and responsive.

maybe try shutting down. Hold the power button until it prompts you to turn off.

I too had this problem. As stated above, the Fake Server Trick fixed it. :approve:

Looks like A12 needs fake server trick.

I still get haunted by leaving TCPMP on or paused and it starts playing at 12am some nights.

I'm having the same issues. Problem started when upgrading to A12. After the upgrade I only installed a smaller subset of the usual programs. I'm using the (fake) server trick - just in this case it ain't fake.
I have a suspect. I have turned off the "auto shutdown" of the Axim - and I think that it turns itself on during the night by some calendar event or something like that.

:) Will

changing the schedule on the activesync exchange server connection (usually done by adding a fake exchange server so you can change the sync schedule)

not convinced the fake server trick works anymore.

I applied it and found the settings had reverted to the defaults after synching with desktop PC. I have seen a good few postings with others expressing similar issues.

Hi chaps. I've had a quick look into this problem and the FST does work on A12, at least for me anyway. It might appear that the settings are returning to their defaults, but in actual fact they are not (weird I know, but I think we have come to expect odd stuff happening on the x51v).

The proof in the pudding is using a program like Magicbutton so that you can see the programs loaded in the start button area. Without the fake server trick A12 was loading Activesync while the Ax was on standby (i.e. Magicbutton shows the Activesync program in the Start button area when bringing out of standby). After applying the FST it no longer loads, hence no longer shows up in the Start area when switching on from standby.

Hope this helps.

I had this problem a few times since upgrading to A12. I had re-applied the fake server trick, but hadn't done it correctly (my memory isn't what it used to be)
I re-applied it properly, time will tell.
I've also had a few white screen of death instances when putting the Axim in the cradle, similar to what others have posted. Hopedully A14 will fix this.

I found that the Fake server trick didn't work for me. Or at least, it didn't until I found a fix. I had to check sync outgoing items immediately in the schedule menu. Haven't had a problem since. The problem was that the "manual" schedule setting kept getting reset. Clicking this option somehow fixed it.
