Problems with x51 when using windows media player.

Hello all,
I just up graded my X51V to rom A12 and now when ever I use the windows media player to play mp3, the volume on the x51 is very low. It also tells me that the internal memory is low. When I'm not playing mp3, I have 28 mb of internal memory free. Once I start using the Windows Media player, the internal memory drops to 10mb and I get the memory low message. Once I stop playing mp3 files, it goes up back up to 28mb.

Has enyone experience this?

I have not had the same problem, but could it be possible that you are playing large or high bitrate MP3 files? I compress mine down to 128K so each is about 2-5 MB, but if you were to use a large MP3 file for Media Player playback, it might move the file to internal memory during playback, eating a lot of your memory.

Just a thought.

I take that back. I just tried the same thing by playing a 2.8MB file. My memory went from about 20.8MB down to just above 8MB during playback. I didn't get an error message, but it seems that Windows Media Player is quite the memory hog. I would venture to guess that everyone will simply recommend that you use TCPMP instead. I just tried it and TCPMP grabs about 4MB when it launches and doesn't take any more, even during playback.

Hi;
I had the same issue with Windows media player, even in ROM A06.
With A12, same thing.
I believe it is not an issue at all. It just is a memory eater.
Go to www.pocketmind.com and try PocketMusic.
Much better and don't use memory.
Using it you will have at least 25M free.

That's a well known issure with the MediaPlayer. I think the Player adjusts the cache automatic and preloads the mp3 file into RAM. I use TCPMP at all. There i can adjust the cache myself.

I am forced to use WMP for its AVRCP functions. None of the other players support it. And yes, it's a memory hog. But if you start other programs, it adapts.

Edit: this is my evilness-killing post :(
