IMAGE for our x50v PPCs

Problem:
System (x50v) gets buggy or crashes.
Solution:
Hard reset.
Problem:
Reinstall all programs under new profile.
Solution:
Develop IMAGE for programs using same profile.

Question:
Can this be done? We all know you can do this with any computer. Do we know if this is possible with our Dells? When I first got my Dell last year I was hard restarting every month. I gave up on most of the programs because it takes forever reinstalling - now I use my X50v like some cheap phone index. Not acceptable. I want more from this PPC.

Any suggestions? Any directions? Any hope?

You can use the built-in backup utility, or a 3rd party backup utility such as Spb Backup or Resco Backup, both of which are highly recommended for their stability (compared to the built-in utility) and extra features (such as self-extracting restore file, which allows you to restore everything without being connected to a PC).

Backup and restore sounds like the best bet.

Just remember that if the instability is caused by a software issue and you just do a mass restore, then you're obviously restoring whatever software is causing the problem.
