Acrobat Reader on WM5

I apologize if this has been covered but I couldn't find anything with the search.

I have an X51 520mhz. This was an upgrade (?) from my X5. The ROM version is A05.

I cannot get Acrobat Reader to install. It constantly comes up with "Reader cannot be installed" and I can't install it to the device or an SD card. I get the same error each time.

Is there another pdf reader that plays nice with Windows Mobile?

Can I install 2003SE on my X51?

Thanks for any info! :approve:

Which version of acrobat are you attempting to install? I had no problems installing the latest (I think 2.0) to my X51V.

No, but i love this os on my x50. I can install new and old software on it. Ive got software from 1999 to work on it. Made for the old win ce pdas. Moves the start bar to the bottom...
Most of the old software was freeware, so i still use quite a few older softwares, since i dont have a lot of $ to spend on my axim.

Make sure if you previously had Acrobat installed on the card to uninstall it. When I tried to install acrobat, I got the same error the first time. The second time, I told it to uninstall from the computer I was synching with. After that, it installed jsut fine.

CJREX - I have the same X51 as you. I installed Adobe's PPC version 2.0 and it runs just fine. As Lizard mentioned, uninstall the program, do a Soft Reset and give it another shot.

Got it to work! :approve:

Made sure all was uninstalled, soft reset, and it failed again.

Upgraded Activesync to 4.2, checked for remaining folders again, soft reset again, SUCCESS!:yeah:

Now to install the A12 ROM upgrade and probably do it all again.

I think the key here is to uninstal from your PC as well as the Axim. Reason I was reinstalling was due to A12 update, ie everything on the Axim had been wiped! I hadn't removed from the PC (Activsync) side. Trying to reinstal with Acrobat still on the PC probably caused the problem. The reason it probably installed on the 3rd attempt would have been because I removed through Activesync on the previous atttempt and removed all from the PC.
