The program in this thread provides a very small bar at the top of your screen that can tell you how much battery life you have left, amongst other things. It is a great program, very subtle but very useful. Works in most programs to tell you battery life and such....
Magic Button (freeware) will place a vertical battery indicator bar on the top bar, but you do have to turn it on. Check the Battery Status box in Settings.
iLauncher has a Battery Indicator which runs all the way along to top of the today screen. It is not free but has a very modest cost and gives you a lot more besides the battery bar of course.

What's amazing is that you posted a link and never mentioned anything related to his program, just a link and he still was able to detect it being talked about, lol.

Thanks everyone. Both Batti and DogfoodReg work on my x51v A06 device. Both programs use a thin line on the top of the screen to indicate battery level.
Aximsite is great because of the helpful members like you!
You may want to try small menu too. It is a neal little app that displays a battery icon as an indicator for your battery level. You can tap the icon and it will tell you how many % left. It also acts as a task manager and best of all it's free.
